A little help goes a long way

Make yourself
at home.

Install, fine-tune, and get back to your work.

Install or Upgrade

The current release is TermX v2.4.1 for Apple Silicon and macOS 13 or later.

Install with brew install --cask ianomad/tap/termx. For an existing Homebrew installation, run brew update && brew upgrade --cask termx.

Homebrew installs Node.js for the local web settings dashboard. If you download the ZIP, move TermX.app to Applications and install Node.js separately to use web settings. Upgrades preserve existing profiles and preferences.

Native Selection in Existing Profiles

New profiles in v2.4.1 use native drag-selection. Existing profiles keep their previous mouse-reporting setting.

  1. Open the TermX menu and choose Old Settings… to open native settings.
  2. Choose Profiles → your profile → Terminal.
  3. Turn off Enable mouse reporting. You only need to do this once for each existing profile.

For a Dynamic Profile, set "Mouse Reporting": false in its source JSON. Re-enable mouse reporting when you want a terminal app to handle mouse clicks instead of native selection.

Cmd+, opens the web dashboard; profile mouse reporting lives in native settings.

More Reliable Copying

v2.4.1 fixes pending clipboard copies being canceled when a context menu or macOS Services reads the selection. Select text and use Cmd+C as usual.

If copying still fails, include your TermX version, profile, terminal app, and exact steps in a bug report. Use non-sensitive sample text.

Themes and Shortcuts

Press Cmd+, for web settings. Appearance changes preview live; saved menu and global shortcut changes take effect after restarting TermX. Key recording, conflict checks, and per-action reset help you customize bindings.

Press Cmd+Shift+P to search the command palette.
